CATERING POLICY
Services
We manage all aspects of off site private and corporate Catering, Event Management and Wedding Planning.
Hours of Operation
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday except for special events.
Ordering
Food orders should be placed at least one business day prior to the meal delivery. Nonetheless, we will accept orders until 9:30 am on the day of delivery if we have the resources available. Same day or rush orders may be subject to a 25% surcharge.
Hot Food Orders
As hot food requires more preparation time, orders should be placed two business days in advance of the day of the event. Hot meals require 10 or more of the same item.
Minimum Orders
Cold meals require a minimum of $75.00 before tax and delivery.
Hot meals require 10 or more of the same item.
Order Changes
Volume increases to an order may be made up to 9:30 am the day of delivery. Reductions to an order are not possible the day of your event due to our production schedule.
Cancellations
All cancellations less than one business day in advance of delivery will be charged in full. We will deliver the food at the specified time unless requested otherwise by the client. Large parties will require more than one business day notice depending on the size of their event. Please refer to our cancellation policy regarding events.
DELIVERY POLICIES
Standard Corporate Breakfast, Lunch and Dinners
(Catering with disposables or simple rentals from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm)
Delivery to one central company drop off point. This is either a special food room outside the elevators, the servery, or the main reception desk.
Delivery Charges are based on the following criteria:
- Distance traveled
- The dollar value of the delivery
- Heavy load-ins
- Client special requirements
- Parking
- Loading dock availability
- Security
- Time of delivery

EVENT COMPANY POLICIES
Event Delivery Charges ( catering, equipment and labour)
Delivery, set-up and strike
To Corporate Limits
1. Flat fee of 18%. Complete implementation of event including, delivery, set-up, break-down, development of menu and quotes, staffing and all internal office time required to ensure a seamless event.
Outside corporate limits
1. Flat fee of 18%. Complete implementation of event including, delivery, set-up, break-down, development of menu and quotes, staffing and all internal office time required to ensure a seamless event.
Plus:
2. $71.50 per hour + $0.55 per km on delivery or pick-up
3. After hours is $107.25 per hour + $0.55 per km on delivery or pick-up.
Note: We realize that sometimes conditions occur that require flexibility. We endeavor to help our clients when situations like this occur.
Payment
We accept Cash, Cheques, VISA and Master Card as a means for payment. If conditions agreed upon above are not met by the client, Simply Elegant may cancel service for the event. Any charges above $1,500 using a credit card are charged a 2.5% service fee.
Payment for Large Events Catering or Event Management
Booking for Catering or Event Management requires a $500.00 + GST non-refundable deposit. We will require an estimate approval, creation of an invoice and contract with event deposit within 14 days. If this time expires there will be no obligations to hold the event day.
Upon execution of any agreement, the proceeding schedule will be in effect.
Payment Schedule
Securing an Event Day – $500.00 + GST non-refundable deposit.
NOTE: We will secure the event day for 14 days. In this time the first payment and contract must be signed.
If not, the non-refundable deposit will be forfeited and the day no longer held.
First Payment: 25% – more than 60 days from event including the non-refundable deposit of $500.00 + GST
Second Payment: 50% – 60 days prior to event
Third Payment: 25% – 7 working days prior to event with final guest count
- Logistics and Special Condition requirements are to be finalized 14 working days prior to event
Closing Charges Adjustment: Payments or credits are made upon completion of event and payable within 14 days.
We require:
Final menu selection is made 30 days prior to event date
Logistics and Special Condition requirements are to be finalized 14 working days prior to event
Guest count and menu are finalized at the time of last payment 7 working days prior to event
NOTE: Any changes to your guest count that lower it may require a price re-evaluation
Cancellation
If the event is cancelled 60 days prior to date of delivery, 50% of contracted total amount will be charged including any charges securing staff in advance for the event. If cancellation occurs less than 14 days prior to the event, 100% of the contracted total amount will be charged.
Chargeable Staff Time
This may include the following:
- Travel time
- Set-up time, depending on the size of the event
- Dinner and busing services to the completion of dessert and coffee/tea service.
- Final clean up
Additional requests will be charged accordingly, we charge for a minimum of 4 hours labor.
Operational Service Fee
Flat fee of 18%. Complete implementation of event including, delivery, set-up, break-down, development of menu and quotes, staffing and all internal office time required to ensure a seamless event. This is not a gratuity nor do we pre-charge a gratuity.
Gratuity
If you are happy with your service and would like to add a gratuity, please pay the Manager or directly to Simply Elegant, the monies will then be dispersed to the appropriate staff.
Children Discounts
2 and under are Free
3 – 8 years receive 50% of cost of meal

Key clients and preferred buildings receive priority service & pricing.
1. Zones 1 & 2 – Corporate Routes 1 & 2
a. Zone 1 – East Calgary
b. Zone 2 – Downtown East Section
2. Zone 3 – Downtown West Section
3. Zone 4 – Based from our location to a 10 km radius
4. Zone 5 – Based from our location 10 to 25 Km radius, corporate limits
5. Zone 6 – Outside our 25 km corporate limit radius
